Remembering Black July 1983 - 27 years on, the Genocide continues...
1948 - months after gaining independence, the Government of Sri Lanka disenfranchises 33% of Tamils, removing their right to vote
...62 years on, the discrimination continues...
1958 - hundreds of Tamils are murdered in the first of many vicious racial attacks
...52 years on, the violence continues...
1983 - over 3000 Tamils are murdered and 150,000 made homeless in Sri Lankan State sponsored anti-Tamil riots
...27 years on, the genocide continues...
2009 - Over 40,000 Tamils killed, over 300,000 Tamils imprisoned in detention camps
...as the world watches on, the eradication of a people continues...
Today - IDPs left to fend for themselves, crimes against humanity with impunity, state sponsored colonization of Tamil areas, media censorship, lack of access to international monitors, no justice for the lives lost and no voice for those who have survived
...the injustice continues...
