FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Q: Are there buses being arranged from Canada and what is the cost per person?
Yes. Buses are designated to depart from various locations in the Greater Toronto Area as well as other selected cities. The cost per person is $100 return.
Q: Are any meals included?
Lunch on Friday will be provided as part of your bus ticket. All other expenses are to be covered by your self.
Q: What documentation do I need to cross the US/Canada border?
A Canadian passport is the most preferred document. You may also use your Canadian Citizenship card along with a government photo ID (example: Drivers License or Health Card)
Q: When will the buses leave Toronto and when will they return?

Buses will depart from various locations at 10:00 PM on Thursday, February 19th and are expected to be back in Toronto by 6:30 AM on Saturday, February 21st.

Please report to your pick up locations by no later than 9:00 PM on February 19th.

Q: What do I need to bring with me?

Do not pack: Citrus fruits, other fresh food items, foreign foods, sharp objects or anything else which may cause delays at the border.

Q: Can I bring my own banners, signs, placards, or materials to distribute?
All signs, placards, banners and distribution materials will be provided by the organizers in the US when you arrive at the site. You do not need to take any of the above items with you from Canada.

Q: Will the buses leave from the same location where I purchased the ticket?
Please confirm where to pick the bus up at the location where you purchase the ticket. Also, verify if parking is available.
Q: Are we fasting before the rally?
In solidarity with Tamils subsisting without basic necessities in Vanni, and in partnership with "Starving for Peace", those who are physically able are asked to fast one, two or three meals on Wednesday or Thursday before the rally. Please visit here to log the meals you fast, and to send a letter to UNHCHR Navi Pillay to urge her office to stop the genocide.
